The 4th Grade will be having their Wax Museum on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 10:30-11:00. We do this every year to conclude the biography unit. Our students will be dressed up like the character they have been reading about and will be "waxed." They will be lined up in the 4-5 hall and the hall leading to the cafe.
"It's A Small World After All"
On March12, Friday, we will be honoring grandparent(s) and/or a grand-person(s) to share this day with Fairview. The students and staff have something very special in store for you. We encourage you to come and enjoy this GRAND event. More information will soon follow with performance times and classroom schedules.
Please save or send in any cultural items, or anything related to your family's heritage that you may want to share for this event. The PTO will gladly receive any Large Items/ Decorations/ Props that may assist with the Visual Effects of this day.
O'Charley's Spirit Breakfast - A Success!
Thanks to O' Charley's (in Monroe, NC), Fairview retained 100% of the monies raised. Totaling over $1250 in this one event!!! WOW. Please mention a special thank you on your next visit to O' Charley's.
For staff appreciation, we would like to provide the teachers with their much needed school supplies. Each teacher has turned in a "Top 5 Most Requested" list. Your child's room parent will divide up the list so that each student will bring in one item during the week. We will also be sending home a "helping hand" so students can give their teacher a special thanks.
Thank you so much for your contributions with the PTO Invest-In-A-Kid Fundraiser; we raised a little over $25,000. This money will be used to purchase Promethean Boards and document cameras. Six document cameras will be purchased.....one for each grade level!
We are so excited to have the chance to purchase these new technologies because they make learning so much more interactive and fun. We hope to be able to buy more Promethean Boards in the future!

New Fairview Policy effective Monday, 11-2-09
- In order to ensure safe dismissal and safe bus drop off of your children, we ask that all transportation changes be made prior to 1:00pm. Non-emergency transportation changes will not be accepted after 1:00pm. (Scheduled Doctor appointments are not considered emergencies.)
- Also, in order to avoid interruption of the end of the day dismissal procedures, you will not be allowed to sign your child out after 1:45pm. This will help with loss of instructional time as well. (If this interrupts a Doctor’s appointment, please plan to pick up your child by 1:30pm.)
Thank you for your cooperation with helping to keep Fairview running smoothly.

Our regular school day schedule
Fairview's Tardy Bell will ring at 7:30 a.m. There will be a warning bell at 7:25 a.m. Students should plan to be in their classrooms by 7:30 a.m. in order to prevent being tardy to class. If parents arrive at school at 7:30 a.m. or later, they will be required to enter the building and sign in their students; students will be marked as tardy to school that day. If students plan on eating breakfast at school, they should go straight to the cafeteria upon entering the building and be in the breakfast line by 7:20 in order to have time to eat and get to their class before the Tardy Bell.
